Passport Information

 

Passports are normally processed in about 3 months upon the submission of application for passport along with required documents to the Embassy. The working hour of the Embassy is 09:00-17:00 hrs from Monday to Friday except at 13:00-14:00 (lunch break). The passport applications are recieved during 10:00-13:00hrs and 14:00 to 15:00hrs. If you need to make phone calls regarding passports/travel documents please do so during 10:00-13:00hrs and 14:00 to 15:00hrs only. The nearest Tube Station is Notting Hill Gate.


(P1) Regular Passport or Renewal of Expiring Passport
  • Two application forms should be completed online and printed (Download here)
  • Valid Passport.
  • Copy of Citizenship Certificate.
  • 5 pp size photographs.
  • Passport fees (£110) in cash, Postal Order or Bank Draft should be made payable to the Embassy of Nepal.
  • If applying by post, please enclose a Self Addressed Envelope with Stamp (SAE) with the application.

(P2) Replacement of Damaged, Torn or Lost Passport

  • Two application forms should be completed online and printed (Download here)
  • 5 pp size photographs
  • Photocopy of lost Passport
  • If it is the case that the passport is torn or damaged, the same should be submitted
  • Passport fees (£220) in cash, Postal Order or Bank Draft should be made payable to the Embassy of Nepal.
  • Police report with PP No. and Name (only if lost)
  • Original nepalese citizenship certificate and also a copy of it
  • Application of details of loss, damage, or tear.


(P3) Separate passports for infants

  • Two application forms should be completed online and printed (Download here)
  • 5 pp size photographs
  • An application specifying of its need from parents
  • A copy of birth registration certificates (having parents' name)
  • Passport fees (£110) in cash, Postal Order or Bank Draft should be made payable to the Embassy of Nepal.
  • A copy of passport of the father of the child
  • A copy of citizenship certificate of the father of the child


(P4) Temporary Passport

  • Requirements are same as that for (P1).
  • Fees: (£15)
  • The validity of Temporary Passport will remain 1 year
  • Processing time: 3 days


(P5) Travel Document

  • Requirements are same as that for (P1).
  • Travel itinerary
  • Fees: (£35)
  • Processing time: 3 days


Important Information

  • Once the Passport/ Temporary Passport/ Travel Document is issued, the fees will not be refunded.
  • Personal cheques and credit/debit cards are not accepted.
  • If paying by cash, the applicant must be present at the Embassy of Nepal
  • For renewal of passport, the applicant must apply when the validity of the passport is less than six months.
    If the applicant posesses a hand written passport, he/she can apply for an MRP any time before the expiry date.

  • Nepalese citizens having birth place other than in Nepal and have attended the age of 21 must submit citizenship certificate for new passport
