Presentation of Credentials of His Excellency Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi

Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi presented his Letters of Credence today (1 December 2016) to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II amidst a special ceremony held at the Buckingham Palace in London.

On the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Subedi conveyed the best wishes and greetings from the Rt. Hon. Ms. Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of Her Majesty the Queen as well as for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of the United Kingdom. H.E. Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi also conveyed the best wishes and greetings from Rt. Hon. Mr. Puspa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Prime Minister of Nepal to Her Majesty the Queen, and to the Government and people of the United Kingdom.

While receiving the Letters of Credence, Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II felicitated Dr. Subedi for being appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the United Kingdom. Her Majesty the Queen extended her best wishes for the personal health and happiness of the Rt. Hon. President of Nepal as well as for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Nepal. Her Majesty the Queen wished that Ambassador Dr. Subedi would be successful in further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. H.E. Dr. Subedi expressed his desire to further widen and strengthen the close and cordial relationship between the two friendly countries.

H.E. Dr. Subedi hosted a reception in the honour of H.E. the Marshal of Her Majesty the Queen at the Embassy of Nepal in London. Present on the occasion were their Excellencies the members of House of Lords and House of Commons, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the South Asia, BIMSTEC and neighbouring countries, and Mayors, former British Ambassadors to Nepal and representatives of various bilateral associations and organizations.
