Col. Bishawnath Ghimire

Born in 1960 in Kathmandu, Nepal and educated at Tribhuvan University in Nepal. Col Rayamajhi was commissioned into the Nepal Army in 1983 and promoted to the rank of Colonel on 2004. During his career, he was posted to the Independent Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division Headquarters and at the Army Headquarters. He served as Platoon Commander, ADC to the Chief of the Army Staff, Company Commander, Operation Officer, Staff Officer and Battalion Commander respectively. He has commanded Independent Infantry Company, Bhim Kali Gulma in 1995 and PARA Commando Battalion, Bhairab Nath Battalion in 2000. He has pursued various Army Courses in Nepal including the Command and Staff College Course and Foreign Courses in the U.S.A, U.K and India. He has served three tours of duty in the United Nations Peace Keeping Operation in Lebanon for six months in 1987 as Platoon Commander and Operation Duty Officer, former Yugoslavia for one year in 1992 as Liaison Duty Officer and Democratic Republic of Congo for one year in 2002 as Military Observer. He was appointed as a Military Attaché to the United Kingdon in 2008.
He is married to Aarati and has a daughter Aagya and a son Anurag. His permanent address in Nepal is Khadka Bhadrakali-7 Hepali, Kathmandu, Nepal.

The Embassy of Nepal in London was established as legation in 1934 when Nepal and the United Kingdom decided to exchange Ministers Plenipotentiary and envoys Extraordinary in each other's Court. It was Nepal's first ever diplomatic mission anywhere in the world.
