Ambassador Chalise Calls On Rt. Hon. Minister Hugo Swire At The FCO
Ambassador Dr. Suresh C. Chalise paid a visit to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and called on Rt. Hon. Hugo Swire MP, Minister of State at foreign and commonwealth office on the 6th of November 2012. Minister Swire has recently taken over the responsibility of Nepal affairs in the FCO. During the meeting, they conferred on the issues of bilateral interest.

Nepal’s envoy to the United Kingdom Dr. Suresh C. Chalise, delving into the aspects of peace process said “Management of Arms and Armies is accomplished and Promulgation of new constitution is in the process.” Dr Chalise, who is the fellow of international fellowship called Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation, was speaking at a conference organised by AvH UK Association, UK, at German House, 34 Belgrave Square, London.

Embassy Organised Visit Lumbini Year 2012
The embassy of Nepal, in cooperation with the Nepalese community in Aberdeen Scotland, organised Nepal’s Tourism Promotion Programme on 15 September 2012, in Aberdeen. The programme, which was coordinated by Nepalese Himalayan Association, The Nepal Trust, Centre for Sustainable International Development (University of Aberdeen), and The Organisation for Nepalese Culture and Welfare, Aberdeen, Scotland, was well attended by the local and business community, Charity organisations working in Nepal including Nilupul, Nepal trust, Nepalese Diaspora; also included Lord Provost of Aberdeen.

Embassy Celebrates Teej Festival
Saturday the 8th of September was a red marker day for The Embassy of Nepal as it welcomed approximately 150 foreign and Nepali guests to celebrate the Teej- a festival very popular amongst Nepali Women. It is the 3rd year of Teej celebration at the Embassy as it began celebrating the festival only in 2010.

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai held meeting with United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of the NAM Summit in Tehran evening. During the meeting, views were exchanged in regards to the political situation of Nepal.
